The Maxus Mifa 9 fully electric MPV has been spotted in the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung customs yard ahead of its launch at the upcoming NADA Auto Show 2023. The Maxus Mifa 9 is an electric MPV produced by SAIC Maxus. Once launched, the Maxus Mifa 9 will be the first fully electric premium MPV to go on sale in Nepal.MIFA stands for Maximum, Intelligent, Friendly and Artistic traits that the new electric MPV is supposed to convey. Measuring 5,270 mm long, 2,000 mm wide and 1,840 mm tall with a wheelbase of 3,200 mm, the Mifa 9 is larger than the Kia Grand Carnival.The Maxus Mifa 9 is powered by a 90 kWh Ternary Li-ion battery to deliver 180 kW (245 hp) and 350 Nm of torque. The MIFA 9 does 0-100km/h in 9.2 seconds, and tops out at 180km/h. The 90kWh battery provides a travel range of 435 km (WLTP), and can be topped up from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. A full charge from 5 percent to 100 percent, with an 11kWh AC charger takes 8.5 hours.
The Mifa 9 features features a large, high-set bonnet that doesn’t slope like traditional MPVs and the narrow headlamps and prominent bumper create a bold impression. Chunky19-inch alloy wheels enhance the profile and at the rear, the full-width taillights flow all the way to the vehicle’s shoulders.On the features front, the Mifa 9 gets a free-standing screen with a 7-inch instrument display and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Front occupants get a wireless device charging pad in the centre console, while all three rows get USB ports for device charging throughout the cabin. Similarly, the cabin also gets 64-colour ambient lighting, an in-car air purifier, and a panoramic glass roof.
The three-row electric MPV seats seven, and the middle row features a pair of electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated pilot seats with massage function, footrests and six-way adjustable armrests. The third row offers seating for three. In terms of safety, the Mifa 9 gets a 360-degree panoramic view camera, 360-degree blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane keep assist.
The Maxus Mifa 9 is expected to price around Rs 1.25 crore in the Nepalese market.
